Free State Media Group's Student Internship Program
Based in Central Texas in the growing Williamson County community of Liberty Hill, Free State Media Group and Media & Political Strategies have a 10-year history of involvement in our community. In 2009, Free State Media Group took that commitment one step further by offering internships to Liberty Hill High School students and local college students.
Our company's latest venture, Radio Free Liberty Hill, offers students a unique learning opportunity while covering the news of our community. Launched in May 2009, the website has become the community's first choice of online news. With new content added daily in a multi-media format, Radio Free Liberty Hill has become the trusted source of accurate, complete coverage of breaking news important to our community.
Involved in Our Community
We believe in the spirit of volunteerism and regularly devote time and resources to local non-profit organizations. In recent years, our consultants have held key leadership positions in various organizations, including the Liberty Hill Chamber of Commerce and the Liberty Hill Youth Soccer Association.
In 2008, the company desiged a website for LHYSA that allowed the orgaization for the first time to register players online, streamlining administrative duties for organization volunteers. The website was offered to the organization at a discounted price.
Also in 2008, the company created a website for the Liberty Hill Volunteer Fire Department, which is now Williamson County Emergency Services District #4. In appreciation for the contribution the department makes to our community, Free State Media discounted the price of that website, which featured an Emergency Alert Service where residents may sign up to be notified directly by email and phone of emergency conditions. LHFD was the first in the area to offer such a service.
