An issues-first campaign may seem more difficult, more retail, and less fancy than the sometimes shiny personality-driven campaigns that candidates are often wooed into running. Commitment and Ethics

When we take on a campaign, a candidate or an organization, we still take the old-fashioned position that we must believe in the task at hand. Volume means less to Free State than the honor of being associated with a candidate or issue that might make the world a little better. In the current political climate of fast deals and "gotcha politics," our position may be seen as provincial or nostalgic. But, it is our professional pushback against the shrill, empty politics that win without a plan to govern or remain connected to the voters who are in charge.

 

Our first campaign in 1976 was successful, and although the mediums and message delivery systems have changed, our commitment to helping our clients develop a winning theme, message and voter outreach strategy have not waivered. We often see political consultants whose egos are so big and require constant tending that we wonder how they ever get any work completed. At Free State, the campaign is about the candidate and the issues, not about us.

 

Because Free State does business in other venues other than political campaigns, we are free to focus our energy on helping the campaign produce a winning message. We won't shy away from fighting back against the unexpected negative attacks from the devious underbelly of your opposition. Negative attacks against you from opponents, third parties and their political parties will be met with a firewall of constant resistance, which will make them wish they had chosen another target.
